Recall Stored Format Instruction The ^XF (Recall Format) recalls a stored format to be merged with variable data. There can be multiple ^XF instructions and they can be located anywhere in the label format. When recalling a stored format and merging data utilizing the ^FN (Field Number) function, the calling format must contain the (^FN) instruction to properly merge the data. While use of stored formats will reduce transmission time, no formatting time is saved since the ZPL II format being recalled was saved as text strings which need to be formatted at print time. For more information, see the ^XF command on page 334.

The following is an example of how to use the various Stored Format instructions. First, enter the following format and send it to the printer. Notice that no label is printed.
